Under the leadership of Music Director Dingwall Fleary, The McLean Symphony's June 4 program includes: Amy Beach – Symphony in E Minor, Op. 32 (“Gaelic”) Ottorino Respighi – Ancient Airs and Dances (Selections) Alexandre Guilmant – Symphony No. 1 for Organ and Orchestra in D Minor, Op. 42, David Lang, Organ Programs and artists subject to change. Brian Lang has gained prominence as a leading professional accompanist, vocal coach, concert organist, and choral conductor. He has prepared choruses for the Kennedy Center, George Mason Center for the Arts, and Wolf Trap. He has worked with notable conductors, including Placido Domingo, Marvin Hamlisch, Leonard Slatkin, and Emil de Cou. Now in his seventh season as artistic director for the Reston Chorale, Lang concurrently serves as director of music at Saint Dunstan’s Episcopal Church in McLean, Virginia, and as keyboard artist for Washington Hebrew Congregation. The McLean Symphony, an all-volunteer orchestra founded in 1971, has been a musical institution in the McLean area for over forty years, under the direction of its founder, Maestro Dingwall Fleary. During its history it has been dedicated to providing multiple styles of good music at affordable prices to area residents.
